Public Service Announcement – Parking Meters

The Moose Jaw Police Service has recently received numerous reports regarding crimes against property involving parking meters.

Reports have stated that the parking meters had been damaged, stolen, and attempts were made to break into the machine to retrieve the money inside.

This type of offence is a crime of opportunity and typically happens in the evening or early morning hours, as pedestrian and vehicle traffic is low during those times.

Since January 1, 2025, the MJPS has investigated several complaints of damaged or stolen parking meters. The MJPS continues to investigate these crimes involving parking meters and attempts to identify the individual(s) responsible.
