Downtown Moose Jaw Stabbing Incident

The Moose Jaw Police Service has two 20-year-old males in custody following a stabbing incident involving a machete on Thursday evening (September 28, 2023).

At approximately 6:10 p.m. Police and EMS responded to 23 High Street East, following multiple 9-1-1 calls.

Once on the scene, officers along with EMS located and attended to two victims, one was struck near the head with the weapon in question, and the other suffered multiple stab wounds. Both were transported to the hospital by EMS with critical injuries.

Police were able to locate the two 20-year-old males, who then surrendered upon being confronted by numerous police officers. Both were then arrested and taken into custody without incident. The motivation behind the attacks is still unknown by the Police.

The MJPS later learned that one of the 20-year-old males had several outstanding warrants, which included Robbery, Assault, and Failure to Appear.

Both individuals will make their first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Friday.

This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released once it becomes available.
